Practitioner Status and Scope of Practice

Cassie Mendez is a shamanic healer and spiritual practitioner offering non-licensed, non-medical spiritual services. Services are provided ethically and within the scope of spiritual and complementary practices.

I do not hold a medical, psychological, or clinical license, and my services are not healthcare services.

Description and Definition of Services

The services provided by The Spirit Within LLC include shamanic healing, spiritual guidance, intuitive insight, energy-based support, and reflective conversation intended to support personal insight, spiritual exploration, and energetic awareness.

Shamanic healing is a holistic integrative therapy and spiritual practice that uses symbolic, intention-based, intuitive, and energy-focused methods to support self-awareness, insight, and personal growth. It is intended for personal and spiritual development and is not a substitute for medical, mental health, or legal care. While this work is gentle and supportive, you may experience emotional release, physical sensations, or unexpected insights as part of the process. 

These services are experiential and spiritual in nature and are offered for personal growth and self-awareness only. 

No specific outcomes are guaranteed.

Education and Experience

I am a shamanic practitioner and intuitive healer with training and experience in shamanic practices, intuitive development, and energy awareness. This includes completion of certification-based spiritual training, ongoing study, mentorship, and practical experience providing shamanic healing sessions.

I am not a licensed medical provider, mental health professional, or clinical therapist.

Scope of Practice and Boundaries

I provide shamanic healing and spiritual guidance only.

I do not diagnose, treat, or cure physical, mental, emotional, or psychological conditions.
I do not provide medical advice, mental health therapy, psychiatric services, legal advice, or financial advice.

Shamanic healing is a spiritual and complementary practice and is not a replacement for professional medical or mental health care.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, you agree to seek assistance from emergency services or a qualified licensed professional.

You acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your own wellbeing, choices, decisions, and actions before, during, and after sessions.

Remote / Virtual Session Information

Shamanic healing sessions may be offered remotely via secure videoconferencing (e.g., Zoom). Remote sessions allow the practitioner to provide services to you while you are in a different location.

• Sessions are approximately 60 minutes.
• The practitioner is not a provider for any insurance carrier, but an invoice can be provided upon request for your records.

By participating in a remote session, you acknowledge:

1. Same Standard of Care: The same standards of professional care and ethical practice apply to remote sessions as in-person sessions.
2. Privacy & Confidentiality: Laws protecting privacy and confidentiality of personal information apply to remote sessions.
3. Physical Separation: You will not be in the same room as the practitioner. You will be notified if anyone else is present, and your consent will be obtained for any additional person involved.
4. Risks to Confidentiality: As remote sessions take place outside the practitioner’s office, others may overhear or access the session if you are not in a private space. It is your responsibility to find a quiet, private location and ensure your device and connection protect your privacy.
5. Technology Issues: Technology may occasionally fail, be interrupted, or be accessed by unauthorized parties. If the connection is not adequate, either you or the practitioner may discontinue the session and make alternate arrangements.

Client Rights

You have the right to:

• Ask questions about the services at any time
• Decline any practice or end a session at any point
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Seek other professional or licensed care alongside or instead of these services

Your participation is always voluntary.

Payment Policy and Client Responsibilities

Payment is required in full at the time of booking. Your session time is reserved specifically for you once payment is completed.

You agree to arrive on time, create a private and safe space for sessions, and communicate openly about your needs, comfort level, and any concerns.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Your session time is reserved just for you. If you need to reschedule, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may not be eligible for a refund, except in cases of emergency.

Confidentiality

All sessions are held in confidence and treated with care and respect. Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed except where required by law.

Hold Harmless Clause

Except in the case of gross negligence or malpractice, I or my representative(s) agree to fully release and hold harmless, Cassie Mendez, from and against any and all claims or liability of whatsoever kind or nature arising out of or in connection with my session(s).

Acknowledgement of Understanding

You acknowledge that you have been provided access to this Client Agreement and Informed Consent via a web link prior to scheduling your session. You confirm that you have read this agreement in full, understand the nature of the services provided, understand the scope and limitations of shamanic healing, and have had the opportunity to ask questions before providing consent.

Client Consent and Electronic Signature

By checking the required consent box, typing your full name, and scheduling a session through the online booking system, you voluntarily consent to receive shamanic healing and spiritual guidance services as described in this agreement.

You acknowledge that shamanic healing is a spiritual practice and not a substitute for medical, mental health, or legal care.

Electronic Consent

Your electronic acknowledgement, including required checkbox acceptance, typed full name, and booking timestamp, constitutes your informed consent and electronic signature and is legally binding to the fullest extent permitted by law.
